Hello,

I hope you are all enjoying this great long weekend we are having.

This week in all Culinary Art classes we have completed our egg unit, and the students were able to end the week with their own fried rice and it was “eggtastic”.

Looking ahead into the next unit, we will be collaborating with Ms. Hirepan and her Spanish classes as we delve into learning about the “Festival of the Candelaria”. This is traditionally a Mexican celebration which takes place on February 2nd. Our students will learn to make a few of the basic dishes such as tamales, atole, and arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas).

As always, practice makes perfect so, please have your student(s) prepare the dishes for you so they can showcase what they have learned, and it taste good too.
