Advanced Culinary Weekly Update
Hello Roadrunners
These past two weeks have been filled with an enormous amount of transition. The students in the Advanced Culinary program delved directly into the course with their first practicum, creating their own version of a hors d’oeuvre. This was the first stage of introduction into the next level of culinary. We ended the week with the students making “tournnes” and then roasting them with a herb marinade.
Looking ahead, we will continue to grow our knowledge with advanced knife skills and building our knowledge of flavors and flavorings. This sequence will build on individual palates and help our students understand flavor profiles.
As a FYI, I will try to post our activities as much as possible on our schools/district Facebook page with photos and videos. So if you haven’t done so already, please follow us on Facebook.
Also, on Oct 29th, the Advanced Culinary class will be working collaboratively with the other classes in electives building to create an Elective Showcase. The students in the Adv. Culinary will be responsible for creating “Pass Hors d’oeuvres”. We hope you all come out in support of the showcase and taste some great creations.
Lastly, as usual, we are very appreciative of the massive support that is always demonstrated by our San Tan community, and we are always accepting and appreciative of any donations the community provides.
Thank you,
E. Ramos, M.Ed.
