Advanced Culinary Update
This week, our Advanced Culinary students concentrated on perfecting their hors d’oeuvres which were served during our October 29th Elective’s Showcase. Our students then served over 720 pass hors’ d’oeuvres to various guests at the Electives Showcase. The students created dishes such as Mongolian Meatballs, Rosemary Bacon Mac & Cheese Balls with a barbeque sauce, Spicy Hawaiian Chicken, Lumpia Rolls (Filipino Egg Roll), Homiepeno Poppers (jalapeno poppers), Hummus with a Tarragon Pita, and ended with an “OOey Gooey Brownie Muffin with a vanilla mint whipped cream. Because of their relentless commitment to perfection, the event and the hors d’oeuvres were received with great appreciation.
Looking ahead into next week, we will begin to plan and finalize our dishes for the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. The Advanced Culinary students will be challenged to cook for the whole school community and their families. As it has been a tradition at San Tan, we look to continue this tradition; however, we look for the support of our community to ensure this is a success.
Also, a SignUp Genius has been created for our annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving which will take place on Wednesday, November 23rd. Please be advised that all ingredients must be on hand at San Tan Charter School main office by November 18th, 2022. This will allow the culinary students to inventory all food items and make any necessary adjustments. The link to the SignUp Genius is as follows:
