San Tan JROTC Update

 In JROTC

This past week was filled with a lot of emotion. The cadets worked on their drill and knowledge pertaining to uniform care. In addition, on Tuesday, we held promotions for over 10 cadets with three of those promotions being meritorious promotions. In addition, we were visited by the American Legion Riders of Old Scottsdale who presented the JROTC cadets with patches that signify their commitment to the program and to each individual cadet. The cadets were able to spend some time talking with the members of the Legion Riders and telling them a little about themselves. It was a great week all in all.

Looking into next week, we will be introducing archery into the cadet program. Each cadet will learn the safety and requirements of archery and how to qualify with the bow and arrow in order to receive their ribbons/awards.

Also, a SignUp Genius has been created for our annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving which will take place on Wednesday, November 23rd. The Advanced Culinary students will be challenged to cook for the whole school community and their families. As it has been a tradition at San Tan, we look to continue this tradition; however, we look for the support of our community to ensure this is a success. Please be advised that all ingredients must be on hand by November 18th, 2022. This will allow the culinary students to inventory all food items and make any necessary adjustments. The link to the SignUp Genius is as follows:

I will continue to post as much of our classroom activities as possible on our schools/district Facebook page with photos and videos. So if you haven’t done so already, please follow us on Facebook.

Also, if anyone is interested in being a guest presenter or if you wish to donate to the JROTC program you may do so by contacting me at eramos@santancharterschool.com, or continue to for our Donors Choose and/or SignUp Genius requests.

Thank you for all your support,
