Family and Consumer Science
Hello Roadrunners,
As we delve into the unit on Ecosystems, our students in FACS had the opportunity to work in small groups to create their very own Chicken Caesar Salad with fresh homemade croutons. I will say that these young ladies and men have done an incredible job thus far and have truly embraced the kitchen and the small group concept. I am very proud of them as we continue to work on various areas of food foundation and the ecosystem.
Next week, we will continue to finalize our unit on Ecosystems and then delve further into understanding how it affects all that we do. We will also begin our next unit on Food Science and Technology which will lead us into our practicum of Imitation Crab Salad
I will continue to post as much of our classroom activities as possible on our schools/district Facebook page with photos and videos. So if you haven’t done so already, please follow us on Facebook.
Also, I want to thank you all for your generosity, because as you may already know, your donations and support allow us to truly delve into the curriculum in a way that allows our students to utilize equipment and create dishes they normally would not have the opportunity to do otherwise. Please continue to look out for our Donors Choose and/or SignUp Genius requests.
Thank you very much,
Mr. Edwin Ramos, M.Ed.
